Sad day for Ankaragucu

This is Michael speaking – my first blog. Left Göreme early to ensure we were back ‘for the game’ – Ankaragucu versus Kayserispor. Jordy and I were keen to see a Turkish league game, but the 0-5 loss was a sad affair for the locals. But at least we didn’t record it as Jordy forgot the camera. A bit of an excuse though, as all things that can be used as missiles are banned, and we got frisked twice to check. Not that I can imagine any supporter being that upset they would throw their camera onto the pitch? Then again, the Ankara supporters do have a reputation…and they tried hard to uphold it! Look for the match review at http://www.ankarafootball.com written by Jim, one of the guys we went with.
